The Order Ticket widget window, shown below, is a straightforward method for submitting stock buy or sell orders.
To place an order with a ticket:
Open an Order Ticket widget window (shown below), if it’s not already displayed.
In the Symbol field enter a symbol (or enter a string and search) specifying the stock for the order. Upon selection the current market (which dynamically updates) appears in the table below for the symbol. Above the symbol GOOG is specified.
Note that the displayed current market data includes the best bid and offer prices along with the exchange disseminating these best prices.
Enter the number of Shares and select the Destination venue for the order submission. Then enter the order instructions, using the pull-down lists as shown:
When the order instructions are set click Buy or Sell to trade accordingly. A verify and confirm window (similar to the example below) opens where you can review the order you are about to submit.
Click Trade to submit the order for processing. A confirmation window appears, indicating that your order is submitted.
Your new order and its status should appear in your Orders window, described in section Viewing Your Orders.
